FRAGMENTS: Valuart - Lugano, CH

29 November 2024

FRAGMENTS represents a pivotal chapter in Andrea Bonaceto’s artistic journey - a culmination of years dedicated to exploring the intersections of visual art and technology. Beginning with digital art in 2021, Bonaceto established himself as an innovative figure in the digital art space, embracing technology to expand the boundaries of creative expression. In October 2024, Bonaceto publicly ventured into physical art with the sale of PEOPLE at Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary Art Online Sale on October 15, 2024.

PEOPLE achieved a price of GBP 32,760 (EUR 39,300), exceeding its estimated value. This event marked the public launch of his physical artworks and set the stage for the unveiling of the entire FRAGMENTS series. The FRAGMENTS series comprises twelve physical artworks created in 2020, which had remained part of Bonaceto’s private collection until their public debut. These works serve as foundational building blocks of his artistic evolution, reflecting his exploration into themes that continue to resonate throughout his practice - such as identity, connection, and the complexities of human existence.

Following his initial success in digital art, Bonaceto sought to bridge the gap between the digital and physical realms, recognizing that both mediums are integral parts of contemporary life. His art practice now embodies a harmonious coexistence of physical and digital mediums, challenging the notion that technology distances us from our humanity. The FRAGMENTS exhibition at Valuart brings these twelve seminal artworks together for the first time, offering an intimate glimpse into the foundational themes that drive Bonaceto’s creative process. Each piece is a fragment of a larger narrative—a mosaic of experiences, thoughts, and emotions that collectively explore the intricacies of human life. Through vibrant colours, abstract forms, and symbolic elements, these artworks invite personal interpretation and emotional engagement. As fragments, they represent both the individuality of each human experience and the collective tapestry of life.

FRAGMENTS is more than an exhibition; it is a dialogue between the digital and physical, the personal and the universal. It invites viewers to reflect on the fragments of their own lives and consider how they contribute to the greater whole. We invite you to immerse yourself in this journey. Engage with each artwork, contemplate the themes presented, and explore how they resonate with your own experiences. Through this shared exploration, may we foster a deeper appreciation for the complexities inherent in our shared humanity.
